9 Days to Conquer the 60°C Desert! LS Manufacturing Sets New Speed Record for Rig Installation in Kuwait

Date:2025-06-17
Recently, the company's second independently developed 3,000HP ultra-deep desert fast-moving rig was assembled and successfully raised in just 9 days under extreme temperatures of 53°C, once again setting a new record for rig installation speed in the Kuwait market. This remarkable "LANSHI Speed" showcases the world-class capabilities of China's high-end equipment manufacturing.
During assembly, the desert ground temperature kept rising, peaking at nearly 70°C—hot enough to scorch skin on contact with metal components. Facing this extreme "baking" challenge, a skilled installation team, led by Party-member veterans, adopted an innovative "off-peak + shift rotation" work model:
• High-intensity tasks were scheduled during the relatively cooler early mornings and evenings.
• At midday, when heat was most intense, the team shifted focus to indoor technical discussions and equipment inspections, ensuring both worker safety and project progress remained uncompromised.
The remarkable efficiency of this "iron-clad team" stems from a blend of experience inheritance and technological innovation. Previously, the KDC Mantle Blade Youth Task Force had completed the installation of the first rig in 11 days under nearly 50°C heat. This time, building on that experience, the team optimized installation procedures, strengthened Sino-foreign technical collaboration, and implemented group coordination with overlapping workflows, boosting overall efficiency by nearly 20%.
• "We strategically interwove processes like hoisting and pipeline connections—like assembling a precision puzzle, ensuring every component locked into place seamlessly," explained the on-site technical lead.
• On the day of the rig's elevation, its exceptional performance stole the spotlight. Thanks to innovative engineering, this "desert giant" delivered a stunning performance against extreme heat—completing the derrick and substructure lifting in just 3 hours, far exceeding client expectations and fully dispelling concerns about the equipment's weather resistance. The Kuwait project manager gave a thumbs-up: "The LS team isn't just fast—their equipment quality is impeccable!"
• The successful delivery of the two rigs marks a major milestone in the company's global expansion. A company executive emphasized that the 9-day "desert breakthrough" not only demonstrates technical prowess but also embodies the dedication and ingenuity of the service team, alongside seamless coordination between departments and clients. Moving forward, the company will leverage this achievement to advance its '1333' development strategy, further refine its product-service ecosystem, and contribute more "LS Solutions" to global energy development.
